TempRE’s Direct Engagement service gives you the savings, control and visibility gained by employing temporary staff directly whilst using the same agencies and workers you always have done.

Originally launched as STAFFflow, TempRE Direct Engagement is a fully-managed solution providing a unique combination of technology, high-level legal expertise and on-the-ground support. Through TempRE, you can manage all agency bookings within a single system that both streamlines operational processes and also provides powerful MI data. With complete transparency over expenditure and bookings, you’re able to control costs and plan more effectively. This transparency also improves governance and increases compliance.

The service is delivered in partnership with PwC and is operating in almost one third of NHS trusts and boards, making it the clear direct engagement market leader. It covers a wide range of staff: medical locums, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and admin and clerical workers.

Easy to set-up

Fast to implement and easy to use, TempRE involves no changes to existing processes beyond removing unproductive tasks. There’s no more need, for example, for medical staff to check invoices or for repeat bookings to be re-keyed.

Support

First, our experienced implementation team work with you to put the service into place. You then get free ongoing support from an on-site Customer Support Consultant, who delivers training and makes sure your trust or board is getting the most from the system and maximizing savings. Shared best practice models and benchmarking data from the more than 65 sites live on the system ensure smooth transition and ongoing operation.

You also have a named Senior Account Manager, responsible for relationship management and finding ways for you to realise additional benefits.

Our partnership with PwC ensures compliance for the lifetime of the contract.

You engage the temporary worker directly, using an agency to source candidates and a third party (not internal resources) for admin and payroll support.

You continue to use the same agencies and staff.

You get Big Four partner level advice on legal, pensions and HR risks.

Our procurement specialists work with you to develop new contractual arrangements with your preferred agencies.

A secure and intuitive online system covers bookings plus contract, induction, timesheet and payroll processes.

Workers have a simple online portal for all admin activities related to their assignment.

You manage all agencies through a single contract, cutting the burden of managing multiple contracts.

We provide guidance on national pay rates, using our own benchmarking data.

A full electronic audit trail provides transparency over costs, rates, commissions, and reasons for spend: see who is booking what and how much they are paying, set the system to challenge excessive rates and off-framework bookings at the point of booking.

We carry out GMC and limited company checks through TempRE, but agencies remain responsible for checks on staff they provide.
